Right now, I am leaning towards using the same ball for a block of five picks (I use the term "pick" to refer to a set of numbers to be played). For PowerBall and Mega Millions, I think that buying the multiplier may be the way to go. When we won $57 in PowerBall, we bought the "PowerPlay" so we got the mulitplication effect. I use my standard set of heuristics to choose numbers. I use 36 competing heuristics as a starting point. I then apply a shuffling of those numbers, although one possible shuffle is to do nothing. I use Gail Howard five number wheels, mostly those that are intended for PowerBall or MegaMillions, but also some pure five number game wheels, as well. I have all of Gail Howard's books from the 2000's and refer to them often.
